Let's start moving to wake up our brains! / ¡A movernos para despertar el cerebro!

Levanta tu mano. Enséñales a los alumnos a apuntar a sus dedos para representar a la familia:
• Pulgar = Father (Voz grave)
• Índice = Mother (Voz suave)

En inglés, "Parents" NO significa "Parientes". Significa PADRES (Papá y Mamá).
Si quieres decir "Parientes" (tíos, primos, abuelos), la palabra correcta es "Relatives".

My grandpa and my grandma live on a small farm. They're quite old. My grandpa's name is John and my grandma's name is Amelia. They have got many farm animals like cows, pigs and chickens.

My mum Emma likes flowers very much. She has got the most beautiful garden. My dad's name is Ben. He likes fishing.

I have got one brother and a sister. My brother is 12 years old and he plays pc games all day. His name is Mark. My sister is younger than me. She likes to play with her dolls. Her name is Julia. She is 8 years old.

My uncle and aunt live in a big town. My aunt's name is Lisa. She is a teacher. My uncle's name is Ted. He is a cook. They have got a daughter. She is my cousin. Her name is Alice. She likes to write letters.

👩‍🏫 Teacher Note: Give students 5-10 minutes to sketch a basic family tree in their notebooks with names and ages. Then, ask volunteers to show their drawing to the camera and introduce their family using the vocabulary.

Now it's time to talk about YOUR family! / ¡Ahora es momento de hablar de TU familia!
🧠 Brain Tip (Aprende imitando): La mejor forma de escribir y hablar en inglés al principio es "copiar" la estructura de un texto que ya leíste y solo cambiar los nombres. ¡A esto se le llama Scaffolding (Andamiaje) y le da mucha seguridad a tu cerebro!

Practice 4: Writing

Write a short paragraph describing your family in your notebook. Use the reading from the beginning of the class as an example.

Practice 3: Speaking

Use the paragraph you just wrote and present your family to the class! Speak loud and clear.

👩‍🏫 Teacher Note (Speaking Activity): Put the students in small breakout rooms or in pairs. Ask them to read their paragraphs to each other.

Pronunciation focus: Emphasize the correct pronunciation of the "TH" sound in brother, mother, and father (it sounds like a soft 'd' with the tongue between the teeth).
