How to talk about your plans and intentions correctly.

Are you ready for your next trip? When we talk about vacations, we usually have a plan. Let's learn how to express it perfectly.

The Rule: In English, we use the future verb tense to talk about actions in the future. We use BE going to + base form of the verb when we have a plan or intention.

Structure: Subject + am/are/is + going to + base form of verb.

Example: "Jack and Jill are going to buy new clothes tomorrow." (The moment of speaking is now, but they have a plan for the future).

How do you remember when to use "Going to" instead of "Will"?
Imagine you are holding an airplane ticket in your hand. You already bought it! It is a secure plan. If you have the "ticket in hand", your brain must automatically select "GOING TO".
🗣️ Michigan Pronunciation Tip: "Gonna"
Native speakers often speak quickly and link words together. In spoken English, "going to" very often sounds like "gonna".
"I am going to travel" ➡️ "I'm gonna travel."

🏃 TPR Action (Total Physical Response): Stand up. Walk in place (like you are traveling) and say out loud 3 times with energy: "I'm gonna travel! I'm gonna relax! I'm gonna swim!"
