The Journalist's Guide to Wh- Questions
Click the questions to interview the mystery person. Use the clues to guess their identity!
To ask for specific information, we use Wh- words. The structure is almost like a math formula.
"Where did you go?" / "Why are you crying?"
These often take a noun before the auxiliary.
Yesterday afternoon, a strange event occurred at the National Bank on 5th Avenue. At exactly 3:00 PM, a man wearing a giant chicken costume entered the bank. He didn't steal any money. Instead, he started dancing in the middle of the lobby and handed out free pizza to all the customers! The police arrived ten minutes later, but the "Chicken Man" escaped in a yellow taxi. Authorities are still investigating his identity.
As a reporter, write 4 questions about the story using different Wh- words (Who, What, Where, When, Why).
